CALocationService renamed Cerebro
August 8th, 2009
CALocationService was the code name for my next project and the beta period is almost over, which means that I needed to choose a new name. Cerebro will still be CALocationService under the hood, but it will have new features and more ways to install onto your iPhone.
Keep up the good work.. It all looks nice.. I am trying to find the manual install instructions. I am looking for a self-managed remote locator daemon.

Cerebro (http://chrisalvares.com/Cerebro) lets you use your own server so that none of your data is stored on the Cerebro database.

hey, chris.. i noticed something in my syslog about Cerebro, not sure if its a bug or not? no idea what PM notification is…

I keep getting messages like that.. sometimes every couple of seconds for a span of 10 min.. is this a bug? It probably drains a good bit of battery during that time… (happens almost every hour.. the frequency i have the GPS updates set at)

This happens when Cerebro keeps your phone awake while looking for a GPS signal. The iPhone sends a notification to Cerebro, and CerebroDemon responds with “cancel” so that your iPhone stays awake while sending GPS coordinates. Cerebro will eventually let your phone go to sleep, after it is finished.

i really like the idea of your app! But it does not work for me. I have installed the app on the iphone and created an account. The location is updated and I can see my location on the google map at http://chrisalvares.com/CALocationDemon/admin.php.
But all the other opntions do not work. e.g. “sonar” or send a msg.
syslog on the iphone gives periodically following msg:
Stream error occurred for : TLS Error Code=-9831 “peer reported unknown certificate authority”

I just lost m password i reinstalled the app on iphone but cant change my account i rember the phone number i enterd but not the password how can i reset it
How can I cancel my cerebro account? I no longer have the app and would like to cancel the account.
